Bournemouth are believed to be around 4m in debt |
Bournemouth are to ask HM Revenue & Customs to withdraw a winding-up petition set for 12 March. The club is believed to be about 4m in debt but BBC Solent understands there are discussions ongoing with parties committed to its long-term future.
Chairman Jeff Mostyn said he was "extremely disappointed" by the Revenue's stance.
He accused them of issuing the petition "without consultation or negotiation over a reduced settlement".
Mostyn added: "A further notice of intent to appoint an administrator was lodged and accepted by the High Court on Monday, 4 February.
"In the circumstances, HMRC will be asked to withdraw their petition."

"I would once again like to assure all supporters that I am working non-stop to bring my negotiations with both investors and individuals interested in purchasing the club to a satisfactory conclusion."
Bournemouth are currently third from bottom of League One and keen to stave off the threat of administration, a move which would result in them being deducted 10 points by the Football League.
The notice of intent to appoint an administrator - the third such notice lodged since mid-January - gives the club a period of protection from their creditors.
