Stewart was replaced by Pryce after 72 minutes against Southend |
Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond is searching for a keeper before Tuesday's game with Luton after both his senior goalkeepers were injured within a week. Neil Moss is out for three months after breaking his wrist while Gareth Stewart limped off with a hamstring problem in Saturday's 4-1 defeat by Southend.
It leaves untried youth trainee Ryan Pryce, 17, as their only fit keeper.
"Gareth won't be fit for Tuesday, and it's not a situation I'd like to play Ryan if I didn't have to," Bond said.
"Ryan recognises that. In an ideal world I'd like someone with more experience, but if I had to play him I'd have no hesitation in putting him in.
"Gareth is really struggling and wouldn't have come off on Saturday unless he had to.
"If he'd stayed on the pitch his hamstring may have gone completely and could have been out for weeks and weeks.
"In order to miss as few games as possible he made the decision to come off."
