Bond salutes Anderton hat-trick
Darren Anderton
Anderton's treble helped the Cherries to a crucial win
Bournemouth manager Kevin Bond praised Darren Anderton after the ex-England midfielder grabbed a hat-trick in the 5-0 win over Leyton Orient.

"He's a credit to himself and sets a great example for the rest of the players," the Cherries boss said.

"He's played at the very highest level, but he's not just here to finish his career and collect a few quid.

"He trains every day, he doesn't ask for any special favours and he isn't given any, so I'm chuffed for him."

The result lifted Bond's side above fellow strugglers Orient and out of the League One relegation zone - thanks to the five-goal boost to their goal difference which also dented Orient's goals against column.

"The game wasn't over at 2-0 and I thought at half-time that the next goal was crucially important," Bond added.

No-one will be getting carried away as we know we?re still deep in relegation trouble

"If the referee hadn't disallowed an Orient goal for a foul on Neil Moss, it would have been a totally different game.

"But thankfully we got a couple of early goals in the second half and went on to be comfortable winners.

"Orient put a lot of balls into the box and we needed to keep our wits about us, but we defended well and took our chances when we had them.

"But no-one will be getting carried away as we know we're still deep in relegation trouble.

"We've got Cheltenham next week, they're in the same position as us and they're in a good run of form."
