Head of youth Joe Roach feels teenage Bournemouth striker Sam Vokes has "thoroughly deserved" the award of his first professional contract. The 17-year-old put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal before Saturday's game with Huddersfield.
"He's a level-headed young lad but he's got to work extremely hard now," Roach told the Cherries' website.
"He's been rewarded by the manager, and he's got to show that in his games and in his day-to-day lifestyle."
Vokes has already made 10 first-team appearances, scoring three times.
