Bournemouth defender Eddie Howe is appointed player-coach and will take control of the Cherries' reserve team. Howe, 29, will take up the position immediately and will continue to play on at the heart of the defence.
The move increases the club's coaching capacity with Kevin Bond and Rob Newman looking after first team affairs.
Alan Knight was recently drafted in on a part-time basis to look after the goalkeepers and Joe Roach is committed to his post as head of youth.
