Bournemouth have signed teenage Southampton midfielder Andrew Surman on a month's loan. Boss Sean O'Driscoll revealed the move for the left-footed 18-year-old at a BBC Radio Solent fans' forum.
Surman, who was born in Johannesburg, has not yet featured in Saints' first team, but scored two goals in 14 games in a loan spell at Walsall last season.
Earlier in the summer, the Saddlers were hoping to bring Surman back to the Bescot Stadium on loan.
However, he has made the short move from Southampton to Dean Court instead - and will take the number 17 shirt vacated by Alan Connell's recent move to Torquay.
He joins the injury-hit Cherries squad in time to make his debut at Milton Keynes Dons on Saturday.
Boss Sean O'Driscoll has also offered short-term deals to three trialists - defenders Shaun Cooper and Callum Hart, and striker Kirk Hudson.
