Bournemouth manager Sean O'Driscoll admitted his side rode their luck to beat Blackburn on penalties in a huge Carling Cup upset at Ewood Park. "We came to play a certain way and knew we'd have to chase the ball because they're a Premiership team," he said.
"We knew we'd be under the cosh and had to ride our luck but it was only in injury time we thought we might win.
"Garreth O'Connor's goal gave us belief because going a goal down early you get visions of being beaten six or seven."
The Cherries boss added: "We concentrated on when we had the ball, to keep it.
"I thought my players did that regardless of whether we had won or lost."
O'Driscoll, who said his team showed "a lot of composure and intelligence" when they got the ball, looked forward to a long cup run.
"The difficult game was against Leyton Orient when people expect you to win. We got through that and we got a big club," he said
They will next face Cardiff at home in the third round.
