Neil Young (centre) is shown the red card by referee Richard Beeby |
Bournemouth's appeal against the red card shown to Neil Young at Brentford has been rejected and the defender will now miss the next four matches. Young saw red for a foul on Stephen Hunt, who had broken an agreement to return the ball following a stoppage.
The Cherries were hoping the dismissal would be reduced to a yellow card.
But the Football Association's disciplinary committe has upheld referee Richard Beeby's decision after seeing a video of the game.
As it was Young's second red card of the season, the three-match ban for violent conduct will have another game added on top.
