Young appeal fails
Neil Young (centre) is shown the red card by referee Richard Beeby
Neil Young (centre) is shown the red card by referee Richard Beeby
Bournemouth's appeal against the red card shown to Neil Young at Brentford has been rejected and the defender will now miss the next four matches.

Young saw red for a foul on Stephen Hunt, who had broken an agreement to return the ball following a stoppage.

The Cherries were hoping the dismissal would be reduced to a yellow card.

But the Football Association's disciplinary committe has upheld referee Richard Beeby's decision after seeing a video of the game.

As it was Young's second red card of the season, the three-match ban for violent conduct will have another game added on top.
