The mystery third party vying to take control of Boston is Midlands-based businessman Jon Sotnick, report BBC Radio Lincolnshire. He is reportedly heading a consortium of a number of businessmen, but has declined to comment on the matter.
Des Wood is set to lose temporary control of the club on 1 January, although he may remain as a director.
The long-running York Street takeover began in 2001 when the Malkinson family put the club up for sale.
