Weiss and Holden both have hopes of going to the World Cup this summer
Bolton have signed Manchester City winger Vladimir Weiss on loan for the rest of the season and completed a deal for midfielder Stuart Holden.
Slovakian Weiss, 20, arrived on loan on Monday, while Holden, 24, finalised a deal on Tuesday which will keep him at the Reebok Stadium until the summer.
American Holden recently left Major League Soccer club Houston Dynamo and has been on trial at Bolton.
Holden and Weiss both want first-team football ahead of the World Cup.
Holden had spent the past four seasons with the Houston Dynamo winning the MLS Cup in 2006 and 2007.
Bolton's latest acquisition, who played in the United States' final two World Cup qualifiers, said: "I am very happy to have the chance to play for Bolton in one of the greatest leagues in the world."
Manager Owen Coyle, whose side are second from bottom in the Premier League, will have Weiss available when he faces his old club Burnley on Tuesday.
"I would expect him to be in the squad," said Coyle.
"He is a very positive player. He is a player who likes to get at full-backs, who likes to get crosses in and shots in.
"He is the type of player that I want at the football club - one that excites the fans. I also believe there is an edge to his game and a quality that will help the ones we already have."
Weiss joined City four years ago and has played four games this season - three in the Carling Cup, including a goalscoring appearance against Arsenal, and one in the FA Cup.
He made his Premier League debut in the final game of last season and last month signed a new deal that is set to keep him at Eastlands until 2012.
Holden, meanwhile, is struggling with a thigh injury but Coyle believes he will add quality to the Bolton squad when he regains full fitness.
"There is an incentive for Stuart to try and get himself in the team," he said.
"He's had a little thigh knock for the last three or four days which has curtailed his training a little bit, but he did ever so well in the first week and he comes looking to push his career on.
"He has done very well in the US and he wants to continue that development.
"He is hungry, he has desire and he has ability, so ultimately when he's fit, it will be up to him to show us what he has got."
