Bolton manager Gary Megson has insisted he has had no enquiries for Nicolas Anelka, despite speculation linking the striker with a January transfer. The 28-year-old Frenchman is believed to be on Chelsea's and Manchester City's wanted lists.
But Megson said: "All I've heard is what is in the papers. I can tell you, hand on heart, that no manager has rang me to say 'would you let Nicolas go?'
"It is just dealing with speculation at the moment."
Anelka, who joined Bolton from Fenerbahce in August 2006, has scored 11 goals for the club this since, including two in Saturday's victory over Birmingham.

The France international has played for Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City, who are keen to re-sign the forward.
Anelka played 134 games for City between 2002 and 2005, scoring 46 goals and is wanted by current Eastlands boss Sven-Goran Eriksson.
Bit City face competition from Chelsea, who are reportedly keen on signing Anelka as Blues front man Didier Drogba could be tempted by a move to AC Milan.
