Allardyce has been at Bolton since 1999 |
Bolton chairman Phil Gartside will not stand in Sam Allardyce's way if he is offered the England job. But Gartside said his manager has no desire to leave them for Newcastle.
"Should the call come from the FA, it would be a very proud moment for Sam, Bolton Wanderers and me personally," Gartside told the club website.
"But he has made it perfectly clear to me he's not interested in managing a Premier League club at any of the current vacancies."
Allardyce is one of the favourites to succeed Sven-Goran Eriksson and he has also been tipped for the Magpies, who sacked Graeme Souness last week.
Gartside, a member of the Football Association council, added: "I am flattered Sam's name has been linked with the England coaching vacancy.
"Until such time, Sam is 100% committed to his important role at Bolton.
"He is excited about the prospect of guiding the club on three major fronts - the Uefa Cup, the FA Cup and the possibility of yet another top-half finish in the Premiership."
Allardyce, who led Bolton into Europe last season and is enjoying another fine campaign this year, was linked with the Newcastle job prior to Graeme Souness taking over at St James' Park in 2004.
Gartside allowed his manager to talk to the Magpies then but Allardyce decided to stay at The Reebok.
However he has already publicly stated that he would not allow Newcastle permission to talk to Allardyce this time.
