 | ALLARDYCE'S VIEW |
Bolton manager Sam Allardyce has set his sights on a Uefa Cup place after a win over Manchester City lifted his side up to sixth in the Premiership. Allardyce said: "This win takes us level with Liverpool and we've got a chance to get into Europe for the first time in the club's history.
"We didn't expect such a good run after losing six games in a row but we drew at West Brom and have gone from there.
"I'm delighted for scorer El Hadji Diouf, he's so crucial to us now."
Allardyce added: "He's managing to control himself at the moment, he knows what he did earlier in the season at Portsmouth was wrong and he'll continue to do the right things.
"He's had a big impact and scored the winner. It was a crucial time to nick a goal, just before half-time and we started to pick them off after the break."
