Bolton will decide whether to sign Jordi Cruyff after watching him in a friendly against Dundee United. The 30-year-old joined Bolton for their pre-season training in Italy at the invitation of manager Sam Allardyce.
He has spent a week with Bolton and assistant manager Phil Brown said: "Jordi has made a good impression. He has done everything we asked of him.
"Now we want to see him in a game situation. We will probably make a decision after Wednesday's game."
The midfielder started out at Barcelona before a spells at Manchester United, Celta Vigo, Alaves and Espanyol.
