Fadiga is the latest addition to Bolton's cosmopolitan collection |
Bolton boss Sam Allardyce has completed the signing of Senegal international midfielder Khalilou Fadiga. Fadiga was given the all-clear by Wanderers' medical staff following concerns over surgery in Belgium for an irregular heartbeat.
The 29-year-old former Auxerre star has spent two weeks training with Bolton after being released by Inter Milan.
Bolton boss Sam Allardyce said: "It will be good to get him on the front line when he's fit."
Fadiga has signed a deal to the end of the season with an option of an extension if he proves successful at the Reebok.
He had feared he would be forced to quit following the initial diagnosis of his heart problem. But his surgery in Belgium was successful, although his contract at Inter was cancelled after an ill-fated spell at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium.
Fadiga becomes the latest addition to Allardyce's collection of cosmopolitan stars.
He becomes Bolton's seventh summer signing, following Rahdi Jaidi, El-Hadji Diouf, Tal Ben Haim, Fernando Hierro, Les Ferdinand and Julio Cesar.
Fadiga's capture means Allardyce is unlikely to pursue his interest in French World Cup winner Emmanuel Petit.
