Blackpool boss Simon Grayson believes his side could still be relegated with 50 points - and that they need at least one more win to be sure of staying up.

The Seasiders are just two points clear of the Championship drop zone.

And Grayson told BBC Radio Lancashire: "There's no doubt about it, if we don't get a point from now until the end of the season then we will be relegated.

"We need another win. The Sheffield Wednesday match on Saturday has now taken on much greater significance."

Blackpool have slipped to 18th in the league after Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Cardiff which angered the manager.

Next week becomes a real big game for us and the players have got plenty to prove in training

"We put a team out on the day which just didn't resemble any team that I've put out since I have been in charge," said Grayson. "That sort of performance has put us back a long way.

"It didn't resemble any of the ethics that we have at our club and in our team.

"We were lethargic, we had no energy, we had no passion about us and we didn't pass the ball".

Blackpool now face Wednesday, one of their main rivals. And Grayson believes that Saturday's date at Bloomfield Road can shape their destiny.

"Everything is still in our hands," said Grayson. "The one thing you've got to do is look after number one. The players have got plenty to prove in training this week because nobody is guaranteed to be playing."
