Hoolahan saga still to be decided
Wes Hoolahan
Hoolahan played for Blackpool in last season's play-off final
Blackpool boss Simon Grayson says Wes Hoolahan's future is still up in the air, despite his playing for Blackpool against Leicester on Saturday.

Fifa are to set to rule on a dispute between the Seasiders and Scottish club Livingston over the midfielder, 24.

"We found out late on Friday that Fifa were going to grant us permission to play him," Grayson explained.

"But will he be our player on a permanent basis though? I honestly have no idea what is going to happen."

Hoolahan spent last season on loan at Bloomfield Road and had agreed terms for a permanent move.

However, Livingston claim Blackpool were late with payments during the loan deal and have lost their right to activate a 75,000 release clause.

MY SPORT: DEBATE

The West Lothian outfit are understood to want a fee in the region of 250,000 for the player, who has a year of his Livi contract still to run.

Livi chief executive Vivien Kyles said she welcomed Fifa's decision to take the case to arbitration.

The saga will now be decided by world football's governing body after the English and Scottish Football Associations were unable to agree on the matter.

Kyles told her club website: "We have had interest in Wes from other clubs in England and we expect that to be a factor when it comes to the determination of suitable compensation."
