Seasiders boss Simon Grayson made his move for the left-sided defender after Danny Coid was ruled out for up to three months with a knee injury.

Dickinson, 19, has started two games in the Championship this season to take his total of first-team games to ten.

Grayson had also been linked with Blackburn Rovers full-back Andy Taylor but he has joined Crewe for a month.
