Grayson had been in caretaker charge since November |
Blackpool have appointed Simon Grayson as manager until the end of the season. Grayson, 36, had been in caretaker charge of the team since November, in succession to Colin Hendry.
Chairman Karl Oyston told the club website: "We have been impressed with the way Simon has conducted himself, and are beginning to see the rewards.
"He has worked tirelessly, the players have responded to his style of management and I believe he can guide us away from the relegation zone."
Grayson began the season combining playing duties with coaching the Seasiders' reserve team.
Although he has not played since taking the managerial reins, he can boast 434 league appearances in spells with Leeds, Leicester, Aston Villa, Blackburn, Sheffield Wednesday, Stockport, Notts County, Bradford and Blackpool.
The Seasiders have won three, drawn three and lost five of his 11 league and cup games in charge.
