Taylor was in prolific form for Blackpool last season |
Blackpool's Scott Taylor has handed in a written transfer request. The striker scored 27 goals last season - but despite interest from Sheffield Wednesday, he has requested a move for family reasons.
Chertsey-born Taylor's father has been ill recently, and the 28-year-old former Tranmere and Bolton forward wants to move nearer to his family.
"We are going to try and help, and look after Scott in any way we can," manager Colin Hendry told his club's website.
Chairman Karl Oyston said: "We have told Scott we are prepared to help him relocate his family to the north-west, and are prepared to be flexible where his training is concerned, as well as assisting with flights to London."
"This has nothing to do with Sheffield Wednesday's interest - a move to Sheffield wouldn't really put Scott much closer to his family."
But Taylor told BBC Radio Lancashire: "There's no way my dad would want to move up here.
"I can't believe what's happening - it's about me being closer to my family. I don't want to be here, I want to be nearer the south - that's where my heart is.
"Sheffield is more convenient - I can just jump in my car and I'm am hour from home on the M1. As for the flights, they run on timetables.
"I'm sorry it's come to this - my head is all messed up."
