Blackburn boss Mark Hughes has not ruled out the possibility of making the loan signing of David Bentley from Arsenal into a permanent move. The 21-year-old agreed a season-long loan from Arsenal on 31 August.
"He's a young man who wants to play football. We have the opportunity to allow him to do that here," Hughes told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
"If he does well and progresses then maybe at the end of the term we might be able to do some business."
Bentley has proven himself to be equally adept in attack or midfield and Hughes will hope he will provide an incisive edge to a team which scored just 32 goals in last season's Premiership campaign.
"I'm delighted we have been able to bring David here," Hughes added.
"He's a young player who has made a mark in the game but I think he is at a point in his career where he has probably looked at his situation at his club and feels he can't progress any further, certainly not in the short term."
