Mokoena is captain of his country |
South Africa captain Aaron Mokoena has joined Blackburn from Belgian club Racing Genk for 300,000. The 24-year-old, who can play in defence or midfield, was introduced to the crowd at half-time in Blackburn's 1-0 win over Charlton at Ewood Park.
"I am very excited at the prospect of playing in the Premiership," Mokoena told the club's website.
"My first priority is to try to get into the first team. There is a big personal challenge ahead for me."
Mokoena had a trial at Ewood Park before Christmas and impressed manager Mark Hughes. "He is a great athlete with pace, a good organiser, a very vocal character and he will be a good addition," he said.
