 | HUGHES'S VIEW |
Blackburn boss Mark Hughes heaped praise on his players for their second-half comeback against Birmingham. But he bemoaned the sloppy first-half defending which saw his side go into the break with a 3-1 deficit.
"At half-time you want to get players in and tell them what needs to be done and thankfully we got the response we needed in the second half," he said.
"I thought the lads were first-class. They applied themselves and drove on and the crowd got behind them."
He added: "We got something out of the game which at half time we wouldn't have expected to get anything out of."
Hughes said that he felt Blackburn would climb the table after they sorted out their defensive frailties.
"We've shown good qualities. We keep on driving on, and have great determination not to get beaten," he said.
"But we don't have that defensive platform to go on and win games. We're making it very difficult for ourselves at the moment.
"The things we can work on and address in training and once we get that defensive platform, we'll be a very difficult side to beat."
