Blackburn defender Tugay has quashed reports he wants to leave Ewood Park in the January transfer window. Reports in the Turkish media claimed the 34-year-old wanted to join Besiktas because he was unsettled at Rovers.
Tugay told the club website: "I've been associated with comments suggesting there is disharmony at Blackburn.
"I made no such comments and I am enjoying playing at Rovers more than ever. I wish to help ensure we go from strength to strength."
And new Rovers boss Mark Hughes hinted at Tugay's importance to the team after Saturday's 4-0 defeat to Middlesbrough on Saturday.
The former Welsh boss admitted his side were weakened after the Turkish international was sent off at the weekend.
Tugay's 1.3m move to Blackburn three years ago gave him his first taste of Premiership football after spells at Rangers and Galatasaray.
