Souness shows contrition
SOUNESS'S VIEW
Blackburn boss Graeme Souness
Blackburn's Graeme Souness admitted he has not been blameless in in his bust-ups with Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole.

The Blackburn manager said: "I can't help myself. I'm doing the best next thing to being a football player.

"I'm a manager and I would swap a great deal to be a player again but that's me finished with five-a-sides.

"As for Andy, I regret some of the things that we said when we had words. The only thing that's important is the cause - and the cause is Blackburn."

Souness added: "We haven't been playing that badly this season but our defending at times has been very poor. That's how we have found ourselves in this position.

"I cannot say that I've been desperately unhappy with our football this season but our defending has been pretty ordinary at times.

"We've always had people who can create and score goals but the other side of things came together as well against Villa."
