Souness back for Ferguson
Rovers twice came from behind

Blackburn boss Graeme Souness is keen to bring in Barry Ferguson and other reinforcements after seeing his side slip to a last-gasp defeat at home to Man City.

Souness has already had one bid for the Rangers captain rejected but has not given up hope of signing the Scottish international.

"We are still talking to Rangers. The first offer was not acceptable so we will see what will happen on Tuesday," said Souness.

Rovers will hope to lure Ferguson - who would cost 8m - to Ewood Park despite interest from Everton, who pulled out of a move for Fulham's Sean Davis after he failed a club medical.

And the Rovers chief is also considering moves for German defender Markus Babbel and former Italy international Dino Baggio.

Blackburn twice came from behind before a late Nicolas Anelka strike handed the visitors a 3-2 win at Ewood Park.

HAVE YOUR SAY

Souness felt keeper Brad Friedel should have saved two of City's goals but refused to blame him outright for the defeat.

"The goals were unacceptable - I think Brad would want to do better," said Souness. "I have worked with him for three years and I have never seen him have a bad night like that.

"But he's a big boy, I have praised him a great deal in the past and he as much as anyone got us to sixth place last season. He's a top man, one of the best around, but it can happen to the best."
