Birmingham have signed Spanish midfielder Enric Valles on a free transfer from Dutch side NAC Breda.
The 20-year-old will officially join Blues on 1 July, upon the expiry of his contract in the Netherlands.
Valles has spent two seasons with NAC Breda, during which he made only four appearances for the club.
Birmingham state on their website that Valles "has been signed for his potential after being monitored by boss Alex McLeish and his scouting team".
Valles, who previously played in hometown club Barcelona's B team, has been given a chance to prove himself at St Andrew's during a one-year deal.
Birmingham finished the Premier League season in ninth spot - 13 points adrift of the Europa League places.
