Carr has been a revelation since coming out of retirement
Birmingham City have boosted their promotion push by signing Stephen Carr until the end of the season.
Carr, 32, initially penned a one-month deal at St Andrew's in February after retiring from the game in December 2008.
He has played in all six of Blues' games since he joined and has impressed boss Alex McLeish.
"Stephen has brought a calmness and good covering play to the back four. I never doubted his quality," he said.
Blues are currently second in the Championship and McLeish admitted the impact made by Carr had come as a pleasant surprise.
"A fear about the lack of games he had played this season before he arrived has been dispelled by his performances."
Blues take on Norwich at St Andrew's on Saturday hoping to maintain their four-point lead over third-placed Reading in the race for automatic promotion.
