Birmingham City have earned a two-legged tie against Liverpool in the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup after beating Watford 1-0 at St Andrew's.
Right-winger Luke Hubbins scored the winning goal four minutes from time to seal Monday's quarter-final victory.
"In terms of youth-team games this was as hard as you'll play," Blues' academy manager Terry Westley told BBC WM.
"If you look at Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal in the semi-finals, it's something to look forward to."
A crowd in the region of 2,500 were at St Andrew's to see the club's youngsters make it through to the last four, earning a match to savour.
"A home tie here first, then away at Anfield - sometimes guys go through their whole career never playing at a ground like Anfield, it's a great experience for our young ones," said former Derby academy director Westley.
"Obviously their budget, their firepower and who they bring to their club is vast and mountains higher that what we do at this football club.
"We'll pit our wits against them and see if our boys can solve their problems."
No dates have been set as yet for the two-legged semi-final against Liverpool.
