Skull surgery for skipper Johnson
Damien Johnson
Johnson missed the majority of last season
Birmingham captain Damien Johnson will be out for two weeks after suffering a depressed fracture of the skull.

The Northern Ireland international, 29, had surgery after he was caught in the face during Saturday's Premier League draw with Fulham.

"Damien took a blow and there was a small fracture," said Birmingham manager Alex McLeish.

"But we believe he could be OK for the Arsenal match on Saturday 12 January by using protective gear."

The luckless midfielder, who spent two months out with a broken jaw in the first half of last season, missed most of 2007 because of recurring hamstring problems.
