Yeung became Birmingham's largest individual shareholder when he paid �15m for a 29.9% stake in the Blues, and is keen to assume complete control.

He said: "I want to complete the takeover as soon as possible, I want to help the club become stronger.

"I hope to have one or two Chinese players at the club, but it's the coach who will choose the players, not me."

Yeung has an agreement with co-owners David and Ralph Gold, and David Sullivan to buy a controlling shareholding in the club.

He said: "We have a tacit agreement with the co-owners, I won't disappoint you."

Yeung is an admirer of China national team captain Zheng Zhi, who impressed during a six-month loan spell at Charlton last season, and will recommend him to Blues boss Steve Bruce.

Yeung said: "So far we haven't contacted Zheng Zhi but I think he is excellent, he's good enough.

"I just have the opportunity to introduce Chinese players to Steve, but I'll respect our coach."

For all his admiration of Zheng Zhi, Yeung also criticised Chinese players, accusing them of sloppy attitudes.

He said: "To be honest, I feel they don't put their hearts into football. China has some good players but I don't think they have the right attitude.

"They stop progressing, they think too highly of themselves. I hope they improve so that I could form a team of 11 Chinese players in the Premier League."
