Birmingham's hopes of automatic promotion were boosted as striker Mikael Forssell continued what could be a timely comeback from knee surgery. Forssell, 25, scored twice in Birmingham reserves' 4-1 win over West Brom at The Hawthorns.
After four months out, Forssell will now come into contention for Friday's crunch match with Derby.
Blues boss Steve Bruce said: "To have him back for the final 10-11 games is a big boost."
