Kelly scored two goal for Spurs |
Birmingham City have completed the 750,000 signature of Tottenham defender Stephen Kelly. The 22-year-old Spurs academy graduate agreed personal terms on a three-year contract and completed his medical late on Tuesday night.
The Republic of Ireland international's fee could rise to 1.25m depending on his success at the Blues.
He told the club website: "It was time for me to move on and this is a great chance for me to play and do well."
Kelly previously previously had loan spells at Southend, QPR and Watford.
He made his debut in 2003 and played 44 games for the White Hart Lane club.
Kelly added: "I was at Tottenham from the age of 16 and played in over 40 games but things didn't work out the way I wanted.
"Everybody knows that this club wants to be back in the Premiership and hopefully I can help them achieve that aim."
Spurs have also agreed to sell Mounir El Hamdaoui to Dutch team Willem II.
The striker joined Tottenham from another Dutch side, SC Excelsior, in January 2005, but has never settled and last season was loaned out to Derby County.
