Birmingham boss Steve Bruce has backed on-loan midfielder Nicky Butt to be the key player in their survival battle. "I thought Nicky Butt was terrific on Saturday. He has had his problems and like a man he has come through them and got on with it," said Bruce.
"He could be that huge influence and big player and big personality who will get us out of the trouble we are in.
"The fans want to see effort and all the supporters can see Nicky has given everything over the last few weeks."
