Birmingham reveal stadium plans
Birmingham's current ground, St Andrews
Birmingham could be moving from St Andrews
Birmingham have published plans for a new multi-purpose 50,000-seater stadium at the Wheel's Park site in the east of the city.

The proposed City of Birmingham stadium would feature moving tiers of seating and could also serve as a cricket and concert venue.

"It's a fantastic opportunity for the city and the region," chief executive Karren Brady told the club website.

"It could host events to put the West Midlands on the map for years to come."

The club says the project would bring in investment worth over 200m and create over 2,500 permanent and construction jobs.

It would be partly funded by the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, with a casino built into the stadium complex.

"We've enjoyed constructive discussions with Birmingham City Council and we are totally committed to the city," said Corporation spokesman Rodney Brody.
