Blake's Birmingham move completed
New Birmingham striker Robbie Blake
Blake was Burnley's captain and top scorer this season
Burnley striker and captain Robbie Blake has finally completed his 1.25m move to Birmingham.

The 28-year-old's move was as good as sealed on Tuesday, but was held up at the last minute by a hitch over agents' fees, which has now been resolved.

Blake, who agreed a three-and-a-half year deal, did not sign in time to be eligible for the Blues' FA Cup tie.

He becomes Birmingham's second signing of the transfer window, following the arrival of Finnish striker Njazi Kuqi.

Blake insisted it was an easy decision to leave the Championship side for Birmingham.

He said: "This is a massive club with great support and it is fantastic to be given this chance to play in the Premiership again.

"I was a lot younger and a bit inexperienced when I played in this division for Bradford.

"But I am confident that I can play at this level now and hopefully I can prove that and do a good job."

Blues boss Steve Bruce is struggling for bodies in midfield due to injuries and Blake insists he can be flexible and play wherever needed.

He added: "I am not just an out-and-out striker.

"Obviously I can play in that position, but I can operate in a few other roles as well as behind the front two or in midfield if the manager asks me to. "I just can't wait to get started."
