Birmingham eye Gray move
Julian Gray in action for Crystal Palace
Gray joined Palace from Arsenal four years ago
Crystal Palace striker Julian Gray is expected to join Birmingham City as Blues boss Steve Bruce continues his summer spending spree.

Bruce managed the 24-year-old winger during his spell in charge at Selhurst Park, but Birmingham insist the move is by no means certain.

"Julian Gray is a player that Steve Bruce is interested in," a Birmingham statement said.

"However, no discussions have yet taken place between the club and the player."

Birmingham say no agreement has yet been reached but Gray is understood to be keen to further his career elsewhere.

The winger, who is out of contract in the summer, fell-out with Palace chairman Simon Jordan after he refused to sign a new deal.

However, he has flourished since Iain Dowie took over as Eagles boss, playing a key part in their run to the First Division play-offs.

Gray will play no part in Saturday's final against West Ham after being sent-off in the semi-final.

But even if Palace see off the Hammers Gray is still tipped to move elsewhere.

Bruce has already strengthened his squad at St Andrews during the close season by signing Emile Heskey from Liverpool for 3.5m

Leicester captain Muzzy Izzett will join his former team-mate at Birmingham but that deal will not be announced until his contract expires on 30 June.
