 | BRUCE'S VIEW |
Birmingham boss Steve Bruce hailed Emile Heskey after the England striker's first goal for the Blues earned victory over Manchester City. Heskey was forced off with an ankle injury after half-time, although Bruce said he hoped it was not serious.
"We were disrupted by the loss of big Emile. He has his critics and some people said I was taking a big risk in bringing him in," he told BBC Sport.
"But he is a physical threat. We probably deserved the win overall."
Bruce added: Some times you have to dig in, but I don't recall Maik Taylor have to make a save.
"We deserved that little bit of luck."
