Cisse says sorry
Aliou Cisse
Cisse was dropped from an overseas tour
Senegal captain Aliou Cisse could return to training with his English Premiership club Birmingham City after he apologised for his late return from holiday.

The midfielder was transfer-listed and fined two weeks' wages after he turned up to training nine days late.

Cisse was dropped from Birmingham's overseas tour of Malaysia but manager Steve Bruce said the 27-year-old had expressed regret for his misconduct in a recent telephone conversation.

"When we get back from this tournament [in Kuala Lumpur], Aliou is coming to see me.

"He has apologised and wants to come back to training," Bruce said.

"He still has a big role to play at Birmingham as long as he wants to do that.

"If Aliou shows the attitude he displayed when he first came to the club, we will welcome him back."
