Barnsley manager Simon Davey has insisted that contrary to reports, midfielder Brian Howard has not handed in a transfer request. "Brian has not - in any way - requested a transfer," he told the club website.
Howard, 24, who has scored six goals this season, added: "I signed a two-year contract in the summer, and I am going nowhere.
"My future is here at Barnsley - you cannot pay any attention to what you read in the papers."
The former Southampton trainee joined the Tykes from Swindon in the summer of 2005.
