Barnsley manager Simon Davey has signed long-time target Heinz Muller on a three-year contract. The 6ft 6in tall German goalkeeper, 29, moves from Norwegian side Lillestrom where he has been first choice since joining in 2005.
Davey said: "It's very pleasing when all the hard work by the board and management pays off and we get a player we have been chasing for eight weeks.
"We are delighted and he will be a fine addition," Davey told the club website.
Meanwhile, Tykes midfielder Sam Togwell, 22, has signed a contract extension which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2009.
