Barnsley's new signing Miguel Mostto has finally been handed a work permit for his move from Cienciano. The Peru striker, 29, who missed the Copa America with injury, recently agreed to join for an undisclosed fee.
The Tykes must now await international clearance from the Peru FA before they can field him in pre-season friendlies.
Barnsley have also signed Dutch defender Marciano Bruma and former Leicester midfielder Andy Johnson, who had agreed moves to Oakwell last month.
Right-back Bruma, 23, who joins from Sparta Rotterdam, had an unsuccessful trial with Ipswich Town in 2006.
Johnson, 33, who played 14 times for his native Wales, was released by Leicester at the end of May.
He began his career at Norwich before spells at Nottingham Forest and West Bromwich Albion.
