Boulding has bagged 13 goals this season |
Barnsley have signed striker Michael Boulding from Grimsby Town for 50,000. Reds' boss Gudjon Thordarson had accused Grimsby chairman Peter Furneaux of trying to delay Boulding's sale.
The Mariners were reluctant to sell the 28-year-old but chose to cash in on their top-scorer rather than see him leave on a free in the summer.
Tykes striker Isaiah Rankin has moved in the opposite direction and will be in the Grimsby squad to face Brighton.
Barnsley are also in talks with an unnamed Premiership midfielder to try and boost their injury-hit squad.
Midfielder Chris Lumsdon is the latest Barnsley player to face a lay-off and he joins Jacob Burns and Dean Gorre on the sidelines.
