Yakubu has made 175 first-team appearances since former boss Peter Shreeves gave him his debut when he was still a schoolboy.

The 22-year-old played 33 games in the last campaign in central defence before his season was curtailed because he needed a hip operation.

He told the club website: "Barnet has been a big part of my life since I arrived at the club as a 12-year-old."
