Martin Laursen wants Villa to reignite their season after two defeats.
Aston Villa captain Martin Laursen says team-mate Steve Sidwell should not dwell on the error that handed Middlesbrough Sunday's 2-1 win.
After scoring Villa's equaliser on his full Premier League debut, Sidwell then gifted Tuncay the second of Boro's two goals to surrender the three points.
But Laursen told BBC WM: "Sidwell made a mistake. We all make mistakes. He just has to move on.
"He scored a great goal earlier which kept us in the game."
Villa, who were suffering back-to-back Premier League defeats for the first time since March, now face a testing couple of games.
First they must take on Arsenal at the Emirates, where they are so far unbeaten in two visits.
Then they face the daunting visit of Manchester United (who they have not beaten in 25 league meetings since August 1995) to Villa Park.
"After two defeats the mood isn't sky high," said Laursen. "But we're still fifth in the league and still having a good season.
"We need to forget the Middlesbrough game, and the result, and move on."
