Defender Olof Mellberg expects to hold contract talks with Aston Villa before he joins up with the Sweden squad in June for the Euro 2008 qualifiers. The 29-year-old Mellberg has just over 12 months left of his current deal.
Mellberg said: "We've talked a little bit but we will see what happens over the next few weeks.
"We've got three weeks before the end of the season, then I've got a couple of internationals so we'll probably have a talk before those."
The Swede added: "The manager has expressed he would like me to stay in the club for longer than that year and I have expressed I am happy at the club."
