Martin Laursen is continuing his recovery from a knee injury and could be fit to turn out for Aston Villa reserves next Wednesday. The Danish international, 29, has been sidelined since sustaining knee ligament damage in the Carling Cup defeat at Chelsea on 8 November.
Lauren returned to training on Monday and Villa boss Martin O'Neill said: "He is outside doing a bit.
"Next week we are hoping for that reserve game which is encouraging."
