Aston Villa midfielder Patrik Berger has suffered another injury setback after breaking down in training. Dogged by injury problems since moving from Portsmouth to Aston Villa in the summer, Berger had only just returned to training after knee surgery.
Villa manager David O'Leary said: "Patrik was out there training but he had to stop.
"He's been to see the surgeon because we don't want to take any chances and we will see what develops."
Meanwhile O'Leary has hit back at speculation club record signing Juan Pablo Angel could be allowed to leave Villa in the January transfer window.
O'Leary said: "That is a load of rubbish and I don't want to say any more because such speculation doesn't deserve any more."
