Aston Villa defender Martin Laursen's return from a long-term knee problem has suffered yet another setback. The 27-year-old has missed three months with ligament damage and suffered a new injury in last week's comeback game against Northampton reserves.
That failed to clear up in time for him to make another attempted return against Birmingham reserves on Monday.
The former AC Milan player has figured in only three games for Villa since his 3m summer transfer.
Laursen signed for Villa before playing for Denmark at Euro 2004 and the club had high hopes for him when they clinched the deal.
He completed the first two Premiership matches of the season but has not kicked a ball in anger since limping out of his third match, a 3-0 defeat at Charlton.
