Ridgewell impressed towards the end of last season at Villa |
Aston Villa boss David O'Leary could have Liam Ridgewell back in action in three weeks as he steps up his recovery from knee surgery. England Under-21 Ridgewell has been out since suffering knee ligament and cartilage damage on Villa's final pre-season tour game in Sweden.
"I would say he would be back ready to play a reserve match after this two-week break coming up," said O'Leary.
"But hopefully there will be no problems and things will run smoothly."
The Villa boss added: "He did some light training on Tuesday. It's a slow process but he is coming along very well."
